Joan photographs mainly flora, fauna, landscapes and sometimes people in the Ottawa Valley.
In early morning light and the magic hour before the sun goes down, Joan never tires of travelling the backroads of the Pontiac and photographing that world, in all its moods.
Joan also loves to make pottery. She has developed a deep yellow Shawville Clay Glaze which she uses with her salamander, polka dot and paisley designs.

Sometimes her independent ways do not suit us.
We cannot expect her to care.
The power of wind and sun persuades wasp, bee, butterfly and moth
to flit from flower to flower drinking from their sweet centres.
Their fate is fickle, flighty.
You are invited for a bite and a sip at the photo show.
